Pre-requisites: To
have completed either the detailed Manufacturing or Advanced
MPR/MPS Course.
What is two-level
MPS?
Two-level MPS is an
advanced planning function within MANMAN/MFG. It allows the
user to forecast demand for products that are best planned as
families.
Two-level MPS relies on mathematical ratios between the
product family and the variants that the company actually
sells, (for example, 15% of all Ford Fiestas sold were 1.3GL
models). Two-level MPS contrasts the expected forecast ratio
of the related products with the actual history of products
sold, it then responds to any change in market demand by
recommending corrective action to the planner
